Alexandra “Alex” Addington has secretly invented a new network device that will hopefully save a colony of scientists before their life support fails. She created the device so explorers will be able to communicate with those back home when they leave the solar system, and, as a personal bonus, Alex hopes it will help find her dead husband’s space ship.

To stay safe, Alex has kept her identity as a famous inventor hidden. A secret society is gunning for her – its extremists don’t want humanity to leave the neighborhood – and while they don’t know she helped invent the deep-space network, they think she’s somehow involved.

Erik Wolfe, her next-door neighbor and soon to be boss, also doesn’t know she helped create the network device, but he thinks she’s hiding something. However, as CEO of the leading space firm Xtra and the new co-owner of Los Angeles’ exclusive Hotel Bel-Air, Erik doesn’t have time for mysteries, much less the crazy chemistry sparking between him and Alex. He just wants his hotel open, the new network to work, and the colony saved.
